January 20, 2015 HTMA Texas Meeting

HTMA Members,

You are invited to a HTMA Texas General Meeting on Tuesday January 20th. The location will be at Ben Taub General Hospital.

Meal starts at 530PM and the genaral meeting begins at 600PM.

Please invite a co-worker or any vendor you can in the next week. This is our Third General meeting and first of 2015.

Once you have parked, ask hospital staff directions to the NPC Auditorium located in the basement of our NPC building.

We will also have signs posted as they exit the elevators

The Presentation and meal will be provided by PRONK Technologies.

Here is a brief description of the presentation,

PRONK TECHNOLGIES

NIBP Fundamentals: 

NIBP- Introduction and History- 10 minutes

• Introduction
• Background and History of Non-Invasive Blood Pressure Measurement- 5 minutes

Pincipals of Measurement- 15 minutes

• Basic Principals- how pulses can be seen by transducers and converted into pressure readings

Basic design- 15 minutes

• DC channel
• AC Channel
• Designing for Safety

Accuracy- what does it mean? 20 minutes

• Why do we see different readings on different manufacturers/models?-
• AAMI standard- how does it influence accuracy of designs?
• Looking at signals, how to interpret a pressure measurement through all the noise.

Testing Strategies- 10 minutes

• Troubleshooting strategies, sources of errors
• How do simulators work- 10 minutes
• Comparisons of different NIBP monitors- 5 minutes
